Chief Operating Officer

The Chief Operating Officer is a critical role at ThinkCERCA, providing an opportunity for an operational leader to scale a fast-growth tech company in building a profitable business. We believe strongly that creating a sustainable growth model is the most effective way for our team to make a world-class education accessible to all.

As the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for providing the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the next stage of growth to ensure the organization is scalable with a strong focus on recruiting a team, building scalable processes, and finance
  • Work with finance team on financial projections and analyses of existing operations and policies
  • Helm budgeting and resource allocation efforts alongside the other C-level executives and the senior management team
  • Build effective compensation strategies in collaboration with executive team
  • Continuously iterate on systems for providing measurements and actionable insights to drive effectiveness across all processes internal and external
  • Own provisioning of timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company to key stakeholders and investors, including the Board of Directors and other investors
  • Spearhead the development, communication, and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization
  • Assist, as required, in raising additional capital at appropriate valuations to enable the company to meet sales, growth, and market share objectives
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company
  • Represent the organization with clients, investors, and business partners
  • Develop and integrate recruiting programs designed to attract the highest caliber of talent
  • Ensure all program initiatives align with the company’s values and culture
  • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
     

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as Chief Operating Officer; SaaS experience with company reaching at least 50mm ARR preferred
  • Proven experience in enabling a fast growing organization with the information and insights needed to execute effectively and efficiently
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
  • Strong negotiator
  • Excellence in enabling data analysis and performance/operation metrics monitoring for all stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis with previous experience overseeing internal and external partners to support human resources, information technology, and legal
  • Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team
  • Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, Operations, and IT
  • Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
  • Self-starter with the ability to execute and implement change
  • Critical thinking: strategic and highly analytical
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills: able to channel different points of view; able to establish and maintain excellent relationships and credibility quickly; and able to create a positive team atmosphere with internal staff while achieving key objectives
  • Effectively balances risk-taking and prudent judgment; Able to operate independently of a large staff
  • Professional integrity, credibility, and character demonstrating the highest moral and ethical behavior
  • Eager to work at a growth company that's having an impact for learners throughout the world
  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA or equivalent is preferred
